Norwegian Icons is introducing Norwegian design to the world. Norwegian contributions have long been unappreciated in the world of Scandinavian design. Fuglen, a Norwegian cafe and bar based in Oslo and Tokyo, set out to fix this by starting Norwegian Icons and putting on exhibitions focused on Norwegian Mid-Century design. With exhibitions in Oslo, Tokyo, and New York 2013 to 2014, Norwegian Icons succeeded in raising the profile of Norwegian design around the world.

In Japan, Norwegian Icons is now introducing reproduction furniture and lights alongside new productions from up and coming talent. These productions are the new Norwegian icons, and we are excited to be a design archive where anyone in Japan can participate in Norwegian design history.

「NOREWEGIAN ICONS(ノルウェジアン・アイコンズ)」とは、知られざるノルウェーのデザインを世界へ向けて発信するブランドです。

ノルウェーのオスロ及び東京を拠点とするFUGLENが母体となり、ミッドセンチュリー期の1940年 - 1975年代を中心に

その時代のアイコンとなったノルウェーデザインを世界へ発信することを目的とした展覧会から私たちの活動は始まりました。

2013年から2014年にかけて、オスロ、東京、ニューヨークを巡回。ノルウェーデザインに大きな注目と関心を集める事に成功しました。

日本国内においては現在ノルウェー家具や照明の復刻版、及びノルウェーの若手デザイナーの作品などを紹介しています。

当時のデザインを復刻させたプロダクトのみならず、現代のデザイナーの作品も新たなる「ノルウェジアン・アイコン」とし、

ノルウェーデザインの初期から現代までを網羅するデザインアーカイブとして機能していく事を目指しています。
