Norway 101

Norway 101 is a workshop for employees of Norwegian companies in Japan aimed at improving cross-cultural awareness and communication skills for smooth interaction with Norwegian people and business partners. While Norway and Japan have a lot in common, they also have significant cultural differences, especially in business. Awareness and knowledge of Norwegian culture, history, society, equality, work-life balance and business culture will make you confident and competent to communicate effectively with Norwegians.

 
 

Cultural Workshop

The cultural workshop is a seminar on Norwegian culture, society and business culture for the employees at NCCJ’s member companies. It is a 2-hour workshop followed by a Kahoot-quiz in which one has the opportunity to win Norwegian prizes. Topics such as Norwegian history, economy, social structures, meetings and business etiquette were can be expected to be covered throughout the session. Moreover, it is to be expected that several interesting discussions will arise throughout the workshop on the bases of the participants sharing useful experiences from working for a Norwegian company.

 
 

Digital Workshop

The NCCJ is now offering a cultural awareness program for employees at all our member companies. The program consists of 2 x 20-minute videos are made by the NCCJ and the videos cover the topics of history, geography, economics, society, culture, and most importantly business culture. In addition to the two videos, we offer a follow-up session at the end to conduct a quiz, answer questions and dig deeper into topics of particular interest of the specific company in training. The offering is free and available to all NCCJ members.
