Announcement of the new Executive Director of the NCCJ
Meet Simen Aasen, the new Executive Director at the NCCJ.
The holidays are rapidly approaching and the NCCJ is well underway preparing for 2020. A big change for the Chamber for next year is the introduction of our new Executive Director, Simen Aasen.
Following is an introduction from Simen to all of you.
My name is Simen Aasen, and I am the successor to Anette Yamamoto-Hansen as Executive Director of the NCCJ. I’m very excited to get started on the task at hand and continue to develop the Chamber to the advantage of its members. The NCCJ has seen continuous growth during Yamamoto-Hansen’s time, and I want to see that trend continued. In the upcoming months there will be an overlap between Anette and myself in order to ensure a smooth handover. This process is already underway to maintain NCCJ's activity level and avoid a drop in capacity during the transitional period.
The role as ED of the NCCJ demands the ability to understand where businesses are coming from and how perspectives, values and business models differ between industry sectors. In the past, I have been working extensively as an intermediary, predominantly in the music industry. Identifying and catering to different needs and interests of clients and collaborators has been crucial in my career, and I believe this will show itself to be valuable experience working at the NCCJ. Without its members the NCCJ doesn’t exist, and that is why our first priority is to remain highly relevant to you. This can only be achieved through first-hand knowledge of the professional climate, open communication between the Chamber and its members and implementing creative solutions to keep us competitive and interesting.
With a Norwegian atmosphere as a backdrop, I’m looking forward to developing a productive, goal-oriented and pleasurable working relationship with you all.
Until we meet,
Simen Aasen
Simen will be taking over from January 1st, working together with Anette who will assume a supporting role with the Chamber. We hope you’ll have the opportunity to meet our newest addition in the near future.
