We spoke to Anette Yamamoto-Hansen of Aker BioMarine, whom two years ago started working for the company in Japan. Since then, the demand for krill is seeing a continuous uptick, and the list of activities they have on the agenda points to a summer with little time to spend in the hammock. What to Expect from Aker BioMarine
There are a lot of things going on for Aker BioMarine this summer! Our HQ has decided to officially establish an entity in Japan, and I have started to work on the registration process. But that’s not all - In the last weekend of September, I’m going live on Japan’s largest TV-shopping channel, Jupiter ShopChannel, promoting a product that uses our most premium krill oil, Superba Boost. Our B2B krill oil, Superba2, has been sold to manufacturers and brands in Japan for over a decade, but Superba Boost has been carefully kept away from the market for a special occasion like this – to secure a grand “first in Japan” launch! Getting Superba Boost on Japanese TV shopping has been a top goal of our company for years. It is also seldom that the story of an ingredient supplier is brought to the spotlight of the product promotion – this is indeed a strong testament to the uniqueness of our company and high quality of our ingredient.
Why the NCCJ is Important
We see NCCJ as a toolbox in the sense that you can build a house with a toolbox, but merely owning a toolbox doesn’t get you a house. It is up to each member to identify their needs and to figure out meaningful usages of the toolbox. As members of NCCJ, we ourselves are a potential tool in the toolbox, so we hope that other members can get some value from cooperating with us.
Also, we believe that a friend in need is a friend indeed. Although I got my vaccination arranged separately thanks to our sister company Cognite, I was impressed by how Simen worked relentlessly and managed to secure vaccines for NCCJ’s members as soon as the opportunity revealed itself. Our company also greatly appreciates that the Chamber stepped up and was willing to go the extra mile to support our work with the upcoming TV-shopping launch, which you can see the result of on ShopChannel in September.
I’m looking forward to being able to meet the other members in person again! I would also like to invite my customers to events at the Embassy (shrimp party/Norwegian seafood party etc) once larger gatherings become possible.
