About the Event
As COVID-19 continues its spread around the world, pharmaceutical companies have been working day and night for their shared goal: To develop a vaccine against the disease and end the pandemic.
AstraZeneca, a global pharmaceutical company combining Swedish and British innovation, is at the forefront of vaccine development. They announced on November 23rd that their vaccine is up to 90% effective. With this significant progress, they will hopefully soon be able to provide the world with a safe and reliable vaccine.
SwedCham (Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China) is proud to welcome Alec van Gelder, Executive Director of International Government Affairs at AstraZeneca in Shanghai, for this final Sharp Talk of 2020. He will present to us AstraZeneca's journey and progress on vaccine development, unique insights from a pharmaceutical company operating in a pandemic world, and their determination to make the vaccine accessible for all and at no profit during the pandemic.
